Radford University no longer requiring COVID-19 vaccine for students

Officials said the college is following Virginia A.G. Jason Miyares’ legal opinion

RADFORD, Va. – Radford University is joining the list of Virginia colleges dropping its COVID-19 vaccine mandate for students.

University officials announced on Monday that they will follow Virginia Attorney General Jason Miyares’ legal opinion and will not require COVID-19 vaccinations or booster shots for students.

Along with that, weekly testing for students who are not fully vaccinated is no longer required.

Face masks are still required on campus while indoors for all students and employees. Officials said disposable and KN95 masks will be available across campus.

The university said it encourages students who received a booster to submit documentation. and also listed an on-campus booster clinic.

The booster clinic will be on Friday, Feb. 11 from 10 a.m. to noon in Room 014 of Heth Hall; however, registration is required.
