Radford Police investigating possible shooting

No injuries resulted from gunfire

RADFORD, Va. – Radford City Police are investigating a possible shooting.

Around 1:30 a.m. on Sunday, Radford University Police and Radford City Police Officers were in the area of 2nd Avenue and Downey Street and responded to an off-campus incident involving a physical altercation.

After speaking with witnesses, they described they heard the discharge of a firearm at that location just minutes earlier.

Police quickly determined that there was no immediate threat to public safety because the suspect left the area in a vehicle.

No injuries resulted from the shooting incident.

The Radford City Police Department is investigating this incident.
