Officials investigating fire that engulfed a Bedford home

BEDFORD COUNTY, Va. – The Bedford County Fire Marshals Office is investigating a fire that destroyed a home Monday afternoon.

At about 12:19 p.m., fire crews in Bedford, Big Island and Forest were dispatched to the 1100 block of Welsh Road for reports of a residential fire.

First responders arrived to find a single-story home with heavy fire throughout the structure.

The fire was marked under control at about 1:25 p.m. and all units were cleared from the scene at about 3:11 p.m.

No injuries were reported in this fire.
