Second group of rescued beagles from Envigo arrive at Lynchburg Humane Society

20 dogs were welcomed with open arms at the Hill City shelter on Wednesday

LYNCHBURG, Va. – The Lynchburg Humane Society received another group of beagles that were rescued from the Envigo breeding facility in Cumberland County.

20 dogs arrived at the Hill City shelter Wednesday, and staff members were there to welcome them with open arms.

10 News is told all the animals are male and just under a year old.

“These guys are coming in with [their] health history unknown. They come with papers from the facility, but they’re going to go through all of their first exams, and we’re going to make sure they all have a good bill of health before they’re available for adoption,” said Claire LeFew with the Lynchburg Humane Society.

This was the Lynchburg Humane Society’s second group of beagles.

21 dogs were rescued last month, and the shelter said they were all adopted within a week.
