WATCH: Organizations receive $550K to combat gun violence in Roanoke

Roanoke's State of the City Address
Several organizations have received $550K from The United States Department of Justice (DOJ) to mitigate gun violence in Roanoke.
Those awarded include the Carilion Clinic, Family Service of Roanoke Valley and Total Action for Progress.

The event is scheduled for Thursday at 11 a.m.
“This funding is meaningful for our community as we continue to address the complex issues that stem from gun violence,” said Mayor Sherman Lea. “These grants are an acknowledgment of the innovative, collaborative work being done right here in Roanoke.”
