The Ford was unable to avoid hitting the Pontiac. When the Ford crashed into the Pontiac, it spun into a median and the Ford continued off the right side of Route 360 and overturned, police say.

VSP has identified the driver of the Ford as Albert J. Duffey, 73, of Clover, and said at the time of the crash, there was a passenger in the Pontiac, who has been identified as Donald W. Browning, 63, of Halifax.

Officials say Browning did not survive the crash.

Duffey and Galbraith were both hospitalized with minor injuries.
