One person hurt after fire at Melrose Towers in Roanoke

RONAOKE, Va. – Roanoke Fire-EMS said one person was hurt after a fire at Melrose Towers on Melrose Avenue.

we’re told smoke conditions were found on the 9th floor and discovered a fire in the trash chute/compactor.

The hurt individual is being treated for minor injuries.

Officials say crews remained on the scene until the building was fully cleared.
