100,000 gallons of water used to extinguish fire at Nelson County lumberyard

NELSON COUNTY, Va. – On Sunday morning around 5:45 a.m., crews in Nelson County arrived on scene to a working fire at a commercial lumberyard in Arrington.
An all county page was issued to assist with water supply and manpower.

Trucks and crews from fire departments across Nelson, Amherst, Albemarle, Campbell, Buckingham and Appomattox counties arrived to assist.
The fire was extinguished with just under 100,000 gallons of water.
Officials said the name of the business will not be shared until permission is granted.
