COVINGTON, Va. – UPDATE
Virginia State Police says the human remains found in a Covington home have been identified as a man who’s been missing since November 2023.

Authorities told 10 News that 43-year-old Jeremiah Lee Barr, of Covington, was found dead in the basement of a residence in the 400 block of East Kline Street.
Investigators are not considering Barr’s death suspicious in nature.

An investigation is underway after human remains were found in a Covington residence on Kline Street, according to Virginia State Police.
Authorities said the body has been sent to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, Western District to be identified.
