Danville Police investigating shooting, leaving one person dead

Danville Police are investigating a homicide.

DANVILLE, Va. – The Danville Police Department said they’re investigating a homicide that happened in the 600 block of Cabell Street on Sunday.

Officials said they were first called to Cabell Street shortly after 7 p.m. on Sunday for reports of a 25-year-old man who had been shot.

EMS pronounced the man dead on the scene, who officials later identified as Anthony De’ayne Ross of Danville.

The investigation remains ongoing.
