PITTSYLVANIA COUNTY, Va. – A pedestrian died Sunday after being hit by a vehicle in Pittsylvania County, according to Virginia State Police.
The crash happened on Saturday at about 9:35 p.m. on Route 719, not far from Route 1004.

Authorities said the driver of a Ford Expedition was driving north and hit 33-year-old Maurice Antown Briggs, who had been walking in the road.
Briggs was transported to Roanoke Memorial Hospital, where he later died, according to Virginia State Police.
The driver of the Ford was not injured and no charges are pending, State Troopers said.
The crash remains under investigation.
