Rescue Mission of Roanoke: The Rescue Mission of Roanoke is an overnight shelter that’s open 24/7, 365 days a year.
Franklin County: Warming Shelter of Franklin County
Warming Center of Martinsville and Henry County: If you are experiencing homelessness or don’t have power, you can come to the MHC Warming Center to stay warm. It’s located at 603 S Memorial Blvd Martinsville, VA, and is open from 7 p.m. to 9 a.m.
The Least of These Ministry: TLOT offers a warming bus during nights when temperatures are below 40 degrees.
Elisha’s House - Galax Warming Shelter: Located in Galax, Elisha’s House serves as a warming shelter for those in the area needing protection from the cold. You must arrive by 8:45 p.m.
Taking it to the Streets - Pulaski: The Warming Station is located at 235 N. Jefferson Ave. in downtown Pulaski and opens at 6 p.m. when temperatures are 40 degrees or lower.
Belmont Presbyterian Church: Situated at 1005 9th Street S.E. in Roanoke, this location welcomes individuals and their pets seeking shelter from the cold.
MHC Warming Center: The MHC Warming Center, located at 603 S Memorial Blvd in Martinsville, VA, offers refuge for those experiencing homelessness or power outages. Open from 7 p.m. to 9 a.m., it provides a warm and safe environment during the coldest nights.
Clifton Forge Warming Stations: The Clifton Forge Fire Department at 701 Church Street and the Clifton Forge Volunteer Rescue Squad at 1610 Hickory Avenue are open Feb. 12 and 13 as warming stations due to potential power outages. For assistance reaching these sites, contact the Alleghany County Sheriff’s Office at 540-965-1770 ext. 0.
Bedford Winter Warming Shelter: Open 24/7 through Friday, Feb. 14, at 7 a.m., located at 112 Center Street. Normally open on weekends, the shelter is extending hours due to the winter storm. Amenities include cots, blankets, food, showers, and laundry. Operated by St. John’s Episcopal Church, with Bedford Presbyterian Church providing the building.
