Downtown Roanoke Restaurant Week returns with 30 restaurants ready to dish out

Restaurant Week kicks off Friday, and you have until Jan. 26 to participate

ROANOKE, Va. Downtown Roanoke Restaurant Week is back, and there are about 30 eateries for you to choose from, including 202 Social House.

“We like to give people good food at a good price. It’s a good way to get people to come out after the holidays—you know, after New Year’s resolutions—get something kind of good to eat for a good price,” said 202 Social House General Manager Jimmy Trent.

202 Social House is serving up its popular burger and chicken dish.

“The lunch option is our ‘Social House Burger.’ It’s very popular [and] comes with a side and also a nonalcoholic beverage, so like a Coke or sweet tea, and at dinner, we are offering a three-course meal. So, you can get a salad or soup and then we also offer one of our select entrees and then a piece of dessert for $35,” said Trent.

Trent said for at least the last few years they’ve participated in Restaurant Week.

“We definitely see a boom in business. It’s good. DRI helps us out with that and gets a lot of restaurants participating. So, it definitely helps kind of in our slow season,” said Trent.

Downtown Roanoke, Inc. hosts this event and they said it helps with the local economy.

“We work really closely with our businesses when we do this, and we consider what’s a good time to host this week for you guys, and they talk about kind of that post-holiday slump. It gets really slow in these cold months. You get a little bit of Valentine’s Day, but it’s really St. Patrick’s Day when things pick up again,” said Director of Marketing and Communications Izzy Post with Downtown Roanoke, Inc.
