Flags around the country have been flying at half-staff following the death of former president Jimmy Carter, as ordered by President Biden. It is tradition to fly flags at half-staff for a month after a president dies.
The flags will be raised for less than 24 hours, rising at 11 a.m. on Monday and lowering back to half-staff at sunrise on Tuesday. They will continue to remain half-staff until January 28.
