Three arrested after smuggling $80,000 in illegal drugs into women’s prison

One of the three charged is a Roanoke woman and a VADOC probationer, according to the Department of Corrections

The Virginia Department of Corrections announced Wednesday that they had arrested three suspects, including a woman from Roanoke after recovering $80,000 in illegal drugs following an attempt to smuggle the drugs into Fluvanna Correctional Facility in Troy.

Consquela S. Lester of Roanoke (a VADOC probationer), Jennifer K. Robbins of Pearisburg (a former VADOC inmate), and Courtney P. Snidow of Pearisburg have been charged with the following:

- Delivery of drugs to an inmate (Robbins faces two of these charges)

- Manufacturing, selling, giving, distributing, or possessing with intent to manufacture, sell, give, or distribute a controlled substance or an imitation controlled substance prohibited

On Saturday, Jan. 18., Lester, Robbins, and Snidow were intercepted by VADOC corrections team members while attempting to visit inmates, according to a report.

VADOC Staff seized approximately 100 Buprenorphine and Naloxone strips (worth an estimated $80,000).

The VADOC also stated that charges were pending for two current VADOC inmates and the investigation remains active.
