SALEM, Va. – The city of Salem got a lot spicier Tuesday.
Wings Etc. Grill & Pub made its debut Tuesday morning, marking the first Wings Etc. restaurant in the state of Virginia. The new spot is located just off Wildwood Road near Interstate 81.
The new owner said the restaurant will not only give locals a new place to eat, but also boost employment in the region.
“We’ve hired about 65 folks. So that’s 65 new jobs in the region,” the owner said. “We are still looking to hire new folks — I think about 75 or so. I think it’s going to have an impact. It will bring a lot of jobs for sure. It will give everybody a nice opportunity to talk with customers, even if they never were a cook.”
Wings Etc. is also a supporter of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and plans to host multiple fundraisers throughout the year.
