WATCH: President Trump gives an update on COVID-19 vaccine Trump said a vaccine to the public could be available as soon as April
President Donald Trump delivered an update on Operation Warp Speed, the effort to develop a COVID-19 vaccine, on Friday.
No vaccine has been formally approved, but Trump said one could be available to the general public as soon as April.
According to the president, Pfizer is set to provide 100 million doses with the option to buy 600 million more. As of Monday, Trump said Pfizer’s vaccine was 90% effective.
Frontline workers, the elderly and high-risk individuals get the vaccine first. However, New York will not get the vaccine.
Trump spoke from the Rose Garden a little after 4:30 p.m.
