BLACKSBURG (WSLS 10) - Virginia Tech first-responders are honored for saving a student's life last fall.
Dispatchers, police officers and rescue squad members were among those who received awards.
They saved the life of Virginia Tech junior Michael Senoyuit when he suffered a seizure and his heart stopped.

Virginia Tech police officer Kendrah Cline was first on scene. She performed CPR for the first time in her career to keep Michael alive until rescue personnel arrived.
Doctors later told the Senoyuit family that this type of medical event claims 98 percent of its victims.
That is why officer Kendrah Cline was given the life-saving medal, but for her, the real award was seeing Michael.
Michael is back in school studying computer programming.
