ACC Tournament Championship: No. 7 Virginia Tech leads No. 1 Duke 42-39 at halftime

BROOKLYN, N.Y. – It’s halftime at the ACC Tournament Championship where Virginia Tech leads Duke 42-39. For the third consecutive game, Virginia Tech opened the game with a solid shooting performance, going 5-of-7 from the field.

Duke was just as good, shooting 6-of-8, through the first media timeout.

As the game progressed, Virginia Tech became a bit careless with the ball resulting in a few empty possessions and turnovers.

Hunter Cattoor led the Hokies in scoring with 17 points. Paolo Banchero led the Blue Devils with 10 points.

This is the first ACC Championship game appearance in program history for Virginia Tech, sixth overall conference final for head coach Mike Young.

As for Duke, it’s seeking it’s third ACC Tournament title in the past six years and its16th under head coach Mike Krzyzewski, who’s in his final year as head coach of the Blue Devils.
