ROANOKE, Va. – Former VMI point guard Trey Bonham announced via Twitter his intention to transfer to the University of Florida.
On Tuesday, the Gators made the news official with a hype video featuring the 6-foot-1 guard.
Trey Bonham spent the last two seasons at VMI where he appeared in 53 games. He started in seven games his freshman season, averaging just over 8 points and shooting 50 percent from the field. Those numbers earned him 2020-2021 SoCon All-Freshman team honors.
Bonham followed up that season with a stellar 2021-2022 campaign, increasing his production to 13 points per game along with an average of 4 rebounds and 4 assists. He shot 47 percent from the field and 34 percent from three-point range.
