Heritage wins Lynchburg Jug Bowl 49-6, ending E.C. Glass streak

Heritage had this year’s Lynchburg Jug Bowl circled on the calendar, and for good reason. At Seminole District Media Day, Brad Bradley said Heritage was ready for the big game.

E.C. Glass had held the Jug since 2023 with back-to-back wins and was eager to get back in the win column.

After two tough losses, Jamar Lovelace’s group was ready to rumble. The most famous jug in Lynchburg was sitting with E.C. Glass coming into the night.

In the second half, the Hilltoppers tried to get something going. Jhalil Holloway found Jeffrey Barnes, who had nothing but green grass ahead of him, cutting Heritage’s lead to 21-6.

But tonight belonged to Heritage. Quarterback Ayden Slash aired it out to his top receiver, Dominick Jones, making it 28-6 for the Pioneers.

Heritage scored through the air and on the ground. David Bradley broke through the line, escaped a defender, and outran the Glass defense for a 35-6 lead.

Special teams also dominated. Ray’Quan Rucker blocked a punt and returned it for a touchdown, sealing the Jug’s return to Heritage with a 49-6 victory.
