MONETA, Va. – On the high school softball diamond Thursday night, Staunton River earned a 6-4 home win against Jefferson Forest.
The Cavaliers handed the Golden Eagles their first loss of the season in late March.
Staunton River jumped to an early 2-0 lead only to see Jefferson Forest drop three runs in the third inning to take the 3-2 lead.
But the Golden Eagles soared to the victory, not back-to-back wins.
