An Amherst County man has been arrested after a bomb was discovered in his residence during a search warrant that was executed by the Amherst County Sheriff’s Office Monday.

AMHERST COUNTY, Va. Six people have been charged after patrols were increased in certain areas due to complaints of criminal activity from residents, according to the Amherst County Sheriffs Office. The sheriffs office didnt identify what those areas were, but says deputies conducted targeted patrol in the areas they received complaints about. According to the sheriffs office, targeted patrol is when deputies are given information from residents about criminal activity in certain neighborhoods. This information can help deputies identify suspects in the areas where residents say the criminal activity is happening. AMHERST COUNTY, Va. Virginia State Police is investigating a police chase in Amherst County that ended in a multi-vehicle crash that sent three people to the hospital. A deputy tried to pull over a silver pickup truck that was speeding, but the driver sped away to elude the deputy, according to the Amherst County Sheriffs Office. The silver pickup then hit a maroon pickup truck, which was pushed into a deputys vehicle. Amherst County chase ends in crash, sending three people, including deputy, to hospital (Amherst County Sheriff's Office)The deputy whose vehicle was hit was taken to a hospital, as well as the driver of the maroon pickup truck and silver pickup truck. The Amherst County Sheriffs Office said the deputy checked on the driver of the maroon pickup truck before leaving the hospital, but his name hasnt been released.

AMHERST COUNTY, Va. Amherst County deputies are looking for the parents of this child. The Amherst County Sheriffs Office says he was found walking on Izaak Walton Road in the area of Tanglewood Drive Wednesday. The child is a white male, approximately 6 years old, blonde hair, and blue eyes. The child seems to be in good health and is currently in the custody of Child Protective Services.
