Forecasters say the risk of direct impacts from Hurricane Kiko has decreased.

Tropical Storm Oscar has disintegrated as it heads toward the Bahamas after making landfall in Cuba as a Category 1 hurricane, killing at least seven people.

Tropical Storm Debby came ashore in Florida as a Category 1 hurricane and quickly downgraded, but the storm still poses serious threats as it slogs on toward Georgia and South Carolina.

While Nicole was only a Category 1 storm, it still did enough damage to leave residents with a big clean-up ahead.

Hurricane Zeta has continued to gain strength this afternoon and it’s now a category 2 hurricane with winds of 110 mph. 5 a.m. Tuesday updateZeta made its first landfall along the Yucatan Peninsula and is now emerging into the Gulf of Mexico as a strong tropical storm. Hurricane and tropical storm warnings have been posted in the Yucatan Peninsula of Mexico and western Cuba ahead of the storm’s arrival. On the forecast track, Zeta will move into the Gulf of Mexico and make landfall late Wednesday along the Gulf Coast.

Hurricane warnings remain in effect for parts of Nova Scotia and Newfoundland, the center said. The hurricane center transitioned the storm from a hurricane to a post-tropical cyclone earlier on Saturday. Kelly Henneberry, a resident of Eastern Passage, Nova Scotia, had her bags packed and ready to go in case of a mandatory evacuation order. As of 8 p.m., Novia Scotia Power said 348,880 customers had lost electricity across Nova Scotia, reports CNN affiliate CBC.

ROANOKE, Va. - As of the 11 a.m. update from the National Hurricane Center, Tropical Storm Barry has developed in the Gulf of Mexico. Barry is forecast to make landfall as a Category 1 hurricane, bringing a tremendous amount of rain and flooding. Rain totals in some parts of Louisiana and Mississippi may go over a foot, due to the slow-moving nature of the storm. By the middle of next week, we may get some remnant rain and/or wind. If we do see any impacts from Barry, it would be next Wednesday as a remnant low.
