Hurricane Zeta has continued to gain strength this afternoon and itโ€™s now a category 2 hurricane with winds of 110 mph. 5 a.m. Tuesday updateZeta made its first landfall along the Yucatan Peninsula and is now emerging into the Gulf of Mexico as a strong tropical storm. (CNN) - Dorian has left the United States but is still causing troubleThe post-tropical cyclone made landfall near Sambro Creek in Nova Scotia, Canada, at 7:15 p.m. Atlantic Standard Time on Saturday. Hurricane warnings remain in effect for parts of Nova Scotia and Newfoundland, the center said. The hurricane center transitioned the storm from a hurricane to a post-tropical cyclone earlier on Saturday. Kelly Henneberry, a resident of Eastern Passage, Nova Scotia, had her bags packed and ready to go in case of a mandatory evacuation order. As of 8 p.m., Novia Scotia Power said 348,880 customers had lost electricity across Nova Scotia, reports CNN affiliate CBC.

ROANOKE, Va. - As of the 11 a.m. update from the National Hurricane Center, Tropical Storm Barry has developed in the Gulf of Mexico. Barry is forecast to make landfall as a Category 1 hurricane, bringing a tremendous amount of rain and flooding. Rain totals in some parts of Louisiana and Mississippi may go over a foot, due to the slow-moving nature of the storm. By the middle of next week, we may get some remnant rain and/or wind. If we do see any impacts from Barry, it would be next Wednesday as a remnant low.
