Six elementary schools in Lynchburg are diving into a Read-A-Thon that started on February 26 and runs through March 7, aligning with Read Across America Week.

An adult was taken to the hospital after a reported explosion in the cafeteria/kitchen area at R.S. Elementary School, according to the Lynchburg Fire Department.

Craig County Public Schools consists of an elementary school and Craig County High School, which also houses the middle school.
