Governor Youngkin announced a $270 million investment to improve the I-81 S-Curve in Botetourt County on Tuesday, according to Botetourt County.

Funds from the land purchase will be used for capital projects for Botetourt County schools, new equipment for law enforcement, and new facilities for county parks and libraries.

At the April 22, 2025, meeting, the Botetourt County Board of Supervisors approved the Fiscal Year 2026 (FY26) budget, maintaining a commitment to fiscal responsibility by not increasing tax rates.

DALEVILLE, Va. – A manufacturing facility is making a big move and opening a new site in Botetourt County. Thursday County leaders announced that the Munters Cooperation would be expanding and investing 36 million dollars for a new facility in Daleville. Munters Group AB, headquartered in Kista, Stockholm, Sweden, represents the 13th nation in the Botetourt County manufacturing community. “This company had a number of options and opportunities to consider, outside of Virginia, county competed with many other localities in several states to position ourselves as the right choice for monitors needs today,” Botetourt County Administrator Gary Larrowe Said. ft. facility will house manufacturing, research and development, and sales of data center cooling systems and high-temperature industrial process systems.

BOTETOURT COUNTY, Va. – Botetourt County’s brand-new Colonial Elementary School is filled with top-notch technology; however, just over a week ago, stepping into the school was like stepping back in time as the school was off the grid for a month. She worked with county leaders, Blue Ridge Towers and BriscNet to come up with a fix and found a temporary solution, a portable tower. A temporary, portable internet tower sits in the parking lot of the new Colonial Elementary School in Botetourt County. BOTETOURT COUNTY, Va. - With the ceremonial cut of a ribbon, the 130-foot communication tower disguised as a silo on the back side of Blue Ridge Park officially became operational. It is the first such tower the National Park Service has ever allowed to be built along the Blue Ridge Parkway. "This is one of the few times in my career where I'm proud of myself," Blue Ridge Towers CEO Anthony Smith said. The tower will also be used to provide broadband service to people who live and work around Blue Ridge Park. There's no timeline for the 13 other towers Blue Ridge Towers hopes to build.

DALEVILLE, Va. - Ballast Point announced that it plans to close its taproom and restaurant in Botetourt County at the end of the month, but the county Board of Supervisors is saying "not so fast." The board says it is starting discussions with Constellation Brands, which owns Ballast Point, to fight the closure. Twenty-five hospitality employees, both full-time and part-time will be affected by the closure, as well as 16 temporary employees, according to the county. With that, we are appropriately reallocating Ballast Point investments to drive growth in core local markets.
