Smith Mountain Lake State Park is making a splash with a new park manager.

An Alleghany County man has been sentenced for shooting at deputies after a pursuit in 2022, according to the Alleghany County Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office.

The Bedford County Sheriff’s Office has released additional information about Monday’s deadly shooting.

As previously reported, 33 residents and 28 staff members at the nursing home have tested positive for COVID-19 since the outbreak began.
