The 66th annual Highland County Maple Festival drew thousands of visitors from across the region, turning the normally quiet county into a weekend-long celebration of maple syrup, local food and community.

With Highland County’s Maple Festival weeks away, producers are keeping a close eye on the weather. The winter’s mix of sleet, cold snaps and warm spells has delayed syrup production. And as 10 News found out, making maple syrup is more science than you might think.
