Virginia Tech’s College of Natural Resources and Environment announced on Thursday that they will be leading a $2 million project to help restore red spruce forests in the Central Appalachian Highlands region.

Two brothers from Daleville grew up fascinated by trains. Now they are using their mechanic skills to restore the Norfolk and Western Class J Number 6-11 Train in Roanoke. Photojournalist Greg Moore shows us how everything came full circle for the brothers to restore an iconic piece of history they grew up seeing as kids.

The school closed back in the late 90's and will takes millions of dollars to restore it back to life.
