25-ranked West Virginia Mountaineers, but could not hold the lead in a 8-6 loss. West Virginia scored four unearned runs to leave Blacksburg with their 24th win. West Virginia rallied in the top of the fourth with six runs of its own, three of which were unearned. Tech pulled even in the fifth, but West Virginia quickly responded with the go-ahead runs for the 8-6 win. Virginia Tech will look ahead to a three-game ACC series at NC State in Raleigh, North Carolina this weekend.
