Why Have Fans Turned on HBO’s ‘Euphoria?’
HBOIn 2022, it’s well established that television doesn’t need to be good in order to sustain our attention. The “guilty pleasure” of consuming reality television and soap operas has proved as much. Plus, with the experience of live-tweeting and meme-sharing, it’s never been more fun to bond over abhorrent writing, spot errors in continuity, and roast annoying characters. Just look at the discourse around HBO Max’s And Just Like That… and the internet’s response to Che Diaz or the streaming platnews.yahoo.com

(Photo by Chris Pizzello/Invision/AP, File)LOS ANGELES – When Zendaya won last month’s Emmy Award for top drama series actress, her triumph seemed to underscore the TV industry’s progress toward inclusivity. That's most notable in Hollywood's executive suites, where little has changed since the UCLA study tallied the numbers five years ago, he said. While they made gains in those and most other on- and off-camera jobs, they remain underrepresented in nearly all. “We've come a long way in that regard” from UCLA's first study of the 2011-12 season, Hunt said.
Aniston proves award-worthy first responder at Emmy Awards
LOS ANGELES – Jennifer Aniston missed out on an Emmy but proved herself as an award-worthy first responder when a ceremony stunt got overheated. In a bit during Sunday night's Emmys, host Jimmy Kimmel sprayed an envelope holding a winner's name with disinfectant then, for good measure, dropped it in a wire wastebasket and set it on fire. So far, so good, ceremony executive producer Reginald Hudlin said Monday. A test had been run beforehand, with a booster added to make the fire more visible, and things were going as planned when the scene was shot — including Aniston to the rescue. She sprayed the wastebasket again, but as she and Kimmel bantered the fire flared again, bigger, and "we're like 'uh oh,'" Hudlin said.

Brown gave out the show’s final award, best drama, in a Black Lives Matter shirt.
