ROANOKE (WSLS 10) -  Carilion gave the community its first look at a new health facility under construction in Roanoke Thursday.

The Institute for Oorthopedics and Neurosciences is a 177,000 square foot facility on Franklin Road on the former Ukropps property.

Right now, it is still very much an active construction site, but in a little more than a year, it will be a resource to patients in need of orthopedic services, pain management and rehabilitative therapy.

Carilion Senior Director Don Love said the new facility will be a great benefit to the community.

"We are very excited to get patients in there, have providers in there have providers and patients interacting. The interior design promotes a lot of collaboration amongst [sic] the practitioners. We are going to have a state of the art imaging facilities as well as state of the art occupational therapeutic facilities," Love said.

The clinic is on track to be completed in January of 2016.
