ROANOKE (WSLS) - Red Cross volunteers are working to raise awareness for needed supplies.
Officials parted with performers from the Roanoke Valley theater to promote blood donations. Dancers performed a number from the production "Dracula" at Market Square in downtown Roanoke .

Volunteers of the event are hoping the partnership will spread awareness about the need to give blood
"We are really trying to bring awareness up where people are going to be traveling during the holidays accidents happen so always to have blood with the need arises there's always a need it's always critical," Lisa Thompson with Red Cross said.
Red Cross volunteers say blood shortages usually happen around the holidays and anyone who donates will get a chance to win tickets to the ballet.
