The WSLS Storm Team 10 gives money to charities every month, based on how close their forecasts came to actual high temperatures in Roanoke. It's called the 3 Degree Guarantee. WSLS Anchor Lindsey Ward caught up with people at one of the charities that benefited from the accuracy of the team.
ROANOKE (WSLS 10) - As 2014 comes to a close, the WSLS Storm Team 10 team is giving out all of the "Three Degree Guarantee" money for 2014 to 10 deserving non-profits.

Child's Play is a national organization that donates gaming systems and toys to children in hospitals nationwide including here at Carilion Clinic.
Sarah Cupp is a full-time Child Life Specialist at Carilion Clinic.
On a table, she shows us not just toys, but tools she uses to break the ice with a child patient.
Her goal every day is to help pediatric patients feel at home at the hospital.
"We might introduce services to a child and bring in toys and a little bit later they want to know what we have in the play room and they might come out here and start messing around getting up and moving is so good for their healing process," Cupp explained.
"Games are just one of the things that we utilize to try to help them to not fear it, they have something they can control, they have something that they can beat," Dr. Alice Ackerman said, Chair of Pediatrics at Carilion Clinic.
Child's Play at Carilion Clinic will get a check for $767 from "Three Degree Guarantee."
