BLACKSBURG (WSLS 10) - Officials with Virginia Tech announced Tuesday a memorial Mass for Cameron Smook, who was a senior in the Department of Mining and Minerals Engineering, is scheduled for 11 a.m. March 27.
The mass will be held at St. Michael Catholic Church, located at 4491 Springfield Road in Glen Allen, Virginia.Â
Visitation will precede the service at 10 a.m., and a reception will follow the service. Smook's family has also established the Cameron Smook Memorial Scholarship.
Many at Virginia Tech say Cameron Smook will be remembered as an excellent student who was known for his energy, his spirit, and his ability to make others laugh.Â

As you may recall, the 21-year-old Virginia Tech senior, has been reported missing since Sunday, March 8 after falling overboard from the cruise ship Carnival Glory. Smook majored in mining and minerals engineering in the College of Engineering.Â
