ROANOKE (WSLS 10) - Good news for dogs and their owners - there's a new dog park in the Star City.
Roanoke city leaders cut the leash on the new 1-acre play area in Thrasher Park Tuesday. The dog park is similar to the one at Highland Park.

Both areas feature mutt-mitt stations, Â pet fountain and designated areas for small and large dogs.
The director of parks and recreation for Roanoke says the new location is convenient to both dogs and their owners. The new park is open from 6:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. daily.Â
