(WSLS 10) - Two menu items some might argue set chain Italian restaurant Olive Garden apart are its unlimited garlic breadsticks and house salad.

In a move likely meant to capitalize on that recognition, Olive Garden announced it will roll out a new line of sandwiches built on the iconic breadsticks.

They're being called the Signature Breadstick Bun Sandwiches and will be served with fries and choice of unlimited homemade soup or house salad. Beginning Monday, lunchtime guests will have two Signature Breadstick Bun Sandwich options: Italian meatball and chicken Parmesan.

In celebration of the new sandwiches, Olive Garden also announced a seven-week tour of four Olive Garden food trucks that will be giving away free samples of the sandwiches. The first food truck in New York City will be joined by additional trucks visiting 20 cities nationwide.

On its new website, BreadstickNation.com, breadstick enthusiasts can share their love of the garlicky bread for a chance to win free lunch for a year.

Olive Garden also announced additional menu items being added June 1, including appetizers, salad "upgrades," and "create your own" lunch specials. As if breadstick sandwiches weren't enough.
