BLACKSBURG (WSLS 10) - Former Blacksburg High School Assistant Principal Amanda Weidner is the new principal at Blacksburg Middle School, pending school board approval.
The school board will vote on the appointment at its June 16 meeting. Weidner will begin her new duties on July 1.

Weidner was assistant principal at Blacksburg High School since 2009. Prior to that, Weidner was a social studies teacher at Auburn High School for 10 years.
Weidner received a master's degree in curriculum and instruction from Virginia Tech in addition to two bachelor's degrees in political science and history, also from Virginia Tech.
