In June 2015, Osborn was found guilty of assault and battery of a minor.

State police say charges in this case against Osborn are pending.

At about 1:40 a.m., Wednesday, the town of Wytheville Police Department received a 911 call for a report of a breaking and entering at a home in the 500 block of West Main Street. A woman arrived home and heard someone inside. She immediately left the house and called 911.

When the two officers arrived, they found the back door open and could see the intruder. Within seconds, police say Osborn came towards them pointing a handgun at them. The officers took cover and fired at Osborn.

One of the two Wytheville Police Officers was transported to Wythe County Community Hospital for treatment of minor injuries. As the officer was taking cover, he fell and was injured.

The resident was not injured in the incident.

At the request of the Wytheville Police Chief Rick Arnold, the Virginia State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation's Wytheville Field Office is investigating the shooting and breaking-and-entering incidents.
