HENRY COUNTY, Va. – A 56-year-old Martinsville man died in a two-vehicle crash in Henry County on Sunday, according to state police.
Police say a 1998 Mitsubishi Galant was traveling west on Route 57, east of Route 648, when it crossed the center line and struck a 1997 Ford F-250 head-on at 5:40 p.m.

The driver of the Mitsubishi, 56-year-old Jim Willie Penn Jr., was wearing his seat belt and died at the scene, according to police.
His passenger, 56-year-old Jennifer Porter, of Martinsville, was wearing her seat belt and was flown from the scene by helicopter for treatment.
The driver of the Ford, 21-year-old Jesse Albert Stevens III, of Colman Falls, Virginia, was wearing his seat belt and was transported to a local hospital for treatment of injuries received in the crash.
The Virginia State Police Crash Reconstruction Team was called to assist and the crash remains under investigation.
