Disabled veteran receives newly renovated, mortgage-free home

Home awarded during Virginia's Veterans Parade

ROANOKE, Va. – In the spirit of Veterans Day, Wells Fargo donated a newly renovated, mortgage-free home to a disabled veteran.

Michael Cain lost both of his legs after an IED exploded under his armored Humvee.

He calls the new home a holiday blessing.

"To be selected out of a certain amount of people that got put in for this home, it means a lot to me. Especially a mortgage-free home and I don't have to worry about a payment or anything like that. It's going to really help me out with the financial burden that I’ve been having," Cain said.

Wells Fargo worked with the Military Warriors Support Foundation to renovate and donate Cain's new home. It's part of a program that has donated more than 350 homes throughout the country.
