Texas boy dies after being left in a hot car, sheriff says

The boy was left in the vehicle for hours

HOUSTON, Texas – A child in the Houston area is dead after sitting in a hot car for nearly three hours, according to Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez.

Gonzales shared a tweet Monday afternoon indicating that officers found a boy, approximately 5 years old, that had been left inside a vehicle for several hours.

The boy was pronounced dead at the scene.
