Body found near missing Christiansburg man’s car in West Virginia, authorities say

Police said they are awaiting a positive identification

HARDY, W.Va. – A body was found in Hardy, West Virginia Wednesday near the car of an 86-year-old man reported missing out of Christiansburg in February, according to Christiansburg officials.

10 News previously reported that authorities said Siegfried Holzer left his home to go the store and never returned. Authorities found his vehicle in Hardy and a search of the area began.

Authorities said the remains have been sent to a medical examiner’s office and police are awaiting a positive identification.

The investigation remains ongoing, and no other details are available at this time.
