Raleigh parade driver charged with involuntary manslaughter

RALEIGH, N.C. – The driver of the pickup truck that killed an 11-year-old girl at a Christmas parade in Raleigh, North Carolina has been charged with involuntary manslaughter, according to WRAL.

Landen Glass, 20, of Goode, faced misdemeanor charges in Wake County in January, including death by motor vehicle, reckless driving to endanger, and carrying a firearm at a parade.

He also faced infractions of failure to reduce speed and improper brakes.

On Monday, Glass was handed an indictment by a grand jury to add the manslaughter charge.

At the parade on Nov. 19, Glass was driving a pickup truck, when he lost control before hitting 11-year-old Hailey Brooks.

Glass’ next court date will be March 29 at 2 p.m.
