A joint funeral service was held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday for two fallen heroes who were shot and killed during an active shooting incident at Bridgewater College.
On Feb. 1, officer John Painter and campus safety officer J.J. Jefferson sacrificed their lives as they worked to protect their campus community from an active shooter.
The service took place at James Madison University’s Atlantic Union Bank Center.
