Here’s how you can support the 2022 Special Olympics Games during Jersey Mike’s Month of Giving

Since 2011, the campaign has raised more than $47 million

LYNCHBURG, Va. – Jersey Mike’s annual Month of Giving is here and the local restaurants are supporting the 2022 Special Olympics Games.

This is the 12th year for the campaign, during which people can make a donation at any Jersey Mike’s location and help more than 50 Virginia athletes.

The month-long campaign will end with the Day of Giving on March 30, when local restaurants will donate 100% of the day’s sales.

This is the first time all owners and operators of Jersey Mike’s locations across the country will be giving to a single cause. The company is hoping to break last year’s record of $15 million.

“Jersey Mike’s was founded on giving back to the community, and supporting the community that supports us,” said Lynchburg Jersey Mike’s Owner Scott Buckner.

This year’s games will take place in Orlando in June. More than 5,500 athletes and coaches from across the country are expected to be participating.

“These fundraisers, and what we do in the community with these funds, are so much more than what happens on the court,” Gena Callahan with Special Olympics Virginia said. “It’s what happens off the court that is so important.”

Since the campaign started in 2011, the Month of Giving has raised more than $47 million for charity.
