‘Dopesick’ author Beth Macy to speak at Ferrum College’s commencement ceremony Macy will address the graduating class on Saturday, April 23 at 10 a.m.
FERRUM, Va. – Ferrum College will have a familiar Southwest Roanoke face speak at its commencement ceremony.
The college announced best-selling author and journalist Beth Macy will be the keynote speaker for its 2022 commencement.

Macy is most known for her book “Dopesick: Dealers, Doctors, and the Drug Company that Addicted America.”

The book inspired the popular Hulu series, “Dopesick,” starring Michael Keaton, that featured places in Virginia, including Richmond and our very own Clifton Forge .
Ferrum College’s commencement will be held on Saturday, April 23 at 10 a.m. in Adams Stadium.
