The Lynchburg Police Department is searching for an armed and dangerous man who is wanted for second-degree murder in connection to a fatal shooting.

On Wednesday at about 11:48 p.m., officers were called to an upstairs apartment in the block of 4500 Golf Park Drive for the report of a shooting. After arriving, officers discovered that 25-year-old Anthony Dewayne Colden II, of South Carolina, had been shot and killed.

Londell Henry Thompson, Jr., 21, has been identified as a suspect and is wanted on the following charges:

  • Second-degree murder
  • Use of a firearm in the commission of a felony
  • Reckless handling of a firearm
  • Discharge of firearm within city limits

The Lynchburg Police Department has confirmed that a homicide investigation is underway.

On Wednesday at about 11:48 p.m., officers were called to an upstairs apartment in the block of 4500 Golf Park Drive for the report of a shooting.

Upon arrival, they found 25-year-old Anthony Dewayne Colden II, of South Carolina, with a gunshot wound to the torso. We’re told he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police did not disclose what led to this incident.
