One hospitalized after tractor-trailer crash on Route 29N in Amherst County

Happened at about 3:30 a.m. Friday near the Ambriar exit in Amherst

AMHERST COUNTY, Va. – A driver is in the hospital following a tractor-trailer crash on Route 29 northbound just north of the Ambriar exit in Amherst County, according to the Amherst Fire Department.

Several agencies, including Virginia State Police, Amherst County Public Safety, the Amherst County Sheriff’s Office and more, were called to the scene at about 3:30 a.m. Friday.

When they arrived at the scene, they found a driver that was trapped inside their vehicle. Once authorities were able to remove the patient from the vehicle, the driver was transported.

The crash closed all north lanes Friday morning but as of 10:15 a.m., the scene has been cleared, according to VDOT.
