NELSON COUNTY, Va. – Nelson County Public Schools serves about 1,500 students in two elementary schools, one middle school, and one high school.
The district had a number of upgrades this year, including:

- Two-way radios
- Vape detectors
- Burglar alarm upgrade
- Intercom upgrade
- Security access equipment
- Anti-ballistic window film
- Security vestibules added to high school, middle school, and one elementary school
